Dog park rules in Houston
Houston requires dogs to be leashed at all times in city parks; the only exception is inside a designated dog park. Dogs are never allowed in children's play areas or on athletic fields, even leashed.
- Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated, with City of Houston registration and rabies tags on the collar.
- Leash your dog before entering and when leaving, including in the transition corridor; carry a visible leash for each dog.
- Carry waste bags and pick up after your dog.
- Stay in voice and sight control at all times; never leave a dog unattended.
- Dogs with a history of dangerous behavior, puppies under four months, and females in heat are not permitted.
- Children 12 and younger are not allowed inside Houston dog parks.
